You might say Nathan's pacifier was shaped like a hammer. His father was a contractor, and he grew up in the trades. What held his attention was anything broken. If it didn't work, he wanted to know why — and then he wanted to fix it.

He has been working in and on Texas homes since 2007, starting with remodels and a few new homes. Then he built a home inspection and indoor environmental company and ran it for thirteen years, inspecting houses for mold, asbestos and water damage. That's where the two halves of his career fused: most mold problems trace back to a construction defect or a deficiency somewhere in the building. Finding the cause and fixing it turned out to be the same job.

Since 2020 he has been a full-time general contractor, building high-end homes, accessory dwelling units and whole-house remodels in Austin and the Texas Hill Country.

He is also a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist, which is why home modification for older adults is its own line of work at A2Z rather than an afterthought.
